The Traveling Baseball Manual has been updated (see below)

Traveling baseball tryouts are  scheduled for March 24th. 

  Players must be registered by March 21^st to tryout. Registrations will not be taken at tryouts.  If there are 12 or fewer registered on March 21^st, the team will formed with those players.  Additional players may be added on a first come basis if needed to fill out the roster to 12 players.

Players will be scored on hitting Hitting (50% of overall score), infield play (20% of the overall score), outfield play (20% of the overall score) and pitching (10% of the overall score)

 A short parent meeting will be held in the lobby of the middle school 15 minutes of after the hitting/pitching tryouts begin. Parents are encouraged to attend.

LARA is sponsoring traveling baseball for boy’s age groups 10U-15U.  These teams play league games 1-2 nights/week , and practice 1-2 nights/week on average. They also participate in 3 weekend tournaments. League, practice and tournament schedules are not available until May. A commitment to weekly practices, games and tournaments is required from each team member. In addition, by trying out for a traveling team, you are making a commitment to the team you are selected for.
 

****  New for 2012 ***:  LARA is forming a 10U Traveling Team.  We will no longer have a Rookies Tourney team. 

The registration fee  for 10U-15U is required prior to tryouts (registration deadline 3-21). Players not selected for a traveling team will have their registration form forwarded to LARA for inclusion in the age-appropriate inter-county league. These players will have the difference between the two registration fees refunded to them. Any player not selected for a traveling team, who chooses not to play inter-county baseball, will have their entire registration fee refunded, minus a $15.00 facility use fee.


Please note that traveling baseball is age-based, not necessarily grade-based. Your child must be the appropriate age by May 1st, or in the same grade level with the group they are trying out with.

A group independent raters will rate each player trying out for a team. The potential coachs at each level may be present, but will not be participating in the tryout. Parents are asked not to attend the selection session. Players will be notified of selection via e-mail.
